Melanie Baker
Melanie received her BFA from Pratt Institute and MFA from StonyBrook University.
She has exhibited most recently at the Brooklyn Museum and The Long Island
Museum, NY. She has had solo exhibitions at the EBEC Galeria de Art in
Salvador, Brazil; the Staller Center for the Arts, Stony Brook, NY; the
Tatar Alexander Gallery in Toronto; and The Scene Gallery in New York City.
Melanie was the recipient of the 2003 New York Foundation for the Arts
Prize and a Sacatar Foundation Fellowship in Brazil. She has held residencies
at the Art Omi and Henry Street Settlement in New York City.
Kabir Carter
Kabir has studied electroacoustic composition at Bard College. His compositions,
performances, and sound installations have been presented at Atlantic Center
for the Arts and in public presentations throughout New York City. He recently
realized "Walking in the City," a net art project that was commissioned
by the Miami-based music festival Subtropics. He has also received
awards and grants for his work from Media Alliance, the Japan Foundation,
and the Toshiba International Foundation. He is currently participating
as a guest composer in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Create @ iEAR
residency program, and has just received an award from the Rhizome Net
Art Commissioning Program for an upcoming online project.
Peggy Diggs
Peggy received her BA from George Washington University and a MFA in printmaking
from Cranbrook Academy of Art. She has had numerous public art and solo
exhibitions throughout the United States. Her most recent works were shown
at the Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro, NC; Wave Hill Art Center,
Bronx, NY; and the Print Center in Philadelphia. She was awarded a Lila
Wallace Arts International Grant and grants from Creative Time and the
New England Foundation for the Arts.
Franklin Evans
Franklin received his BA from Stanford University and MFA in painting from
the University of Iowa. His recent work was shown at Apexart, Thomas Erben
Gallery, Momenta, Wallspace and ScopeNY. Upcoming shows include the Jeff
Bailey Gallery and solo exhibition at the Morgan Lehman Gallery. He was
also a recipient of the inaugural Iowa Arts Fellowship.
Frantiska and Tim Gilman
Frantiska & Tim are husband & wife team. Franstiska received her
MFA from Academy of Fine Arts, Prague. Tim received his BA from Tufts University.
Their collaborative work has been included in Open House: Working in Brooklyn at
the Brooklyn Museum. Past exhibitions were shown the Sculpture Center, Artists
Space, and Swiss Institute, all in New York; The Prague Biennial at the National
Gallery; Galerie Davide Dimaggio Mudimadue in Berlin among others. They recently
completed a six-month residency in Basel, Switzerland, sponsored by the Christoph
Merian Foundation.
Sharon Hayes
Sharon received her BA from Bowdoin College in Maine and MFA from the University
of California, Los Angels. She also completed the Whitney Museum Independent
Study Program. Sharon had performed and exhibited extensively inside and
outside the US including solo exhibitions at LaRebeca in Bogotá,
Colombia; Andrew Kreps Gallery and Parlour Projects in New York, as well
as group exhibitions and performances at the New Museum of Contemporary
Art, the Joseph Papp Public Theater and international venues in Poland,
Croatia, Sweden, Germany.
Christopher K. Ho
Christopher received his BFA and BS from Cornell University and MPhil from
Columbia University. His most recent exhibitions were at the Socrates Sculpture
Park, Smack Mellon and Queens Museum of Art, all in New York. He also curated
projects including LMCC's Microviews with Stephan Apicella-Hitchcock,
which was exhibited both in the Municipal Art Society and LMCC's One Wall
Street Court space.
Eunjung Hwang
Eunjung received her BFA from Ewha Women's University, Korea and her MFA
in computer arts from the School of Visual Arts. Her animation and new
media work has been shown in a number of exhibitions and festivals internationally.
She has received the Principal Prize at Oberhausen International Short
Film Festival, Award for New Media at the 16th Stuttgarter Filmwinter,
the UNESCO-ASCHBERG bursary for artist and an Artists' Fellowship from
NYFA. She was artist-in-residence at the Gertrude Contemporary Art Space
in Australia and Eyebeam, New York.
Colin Keefe
Colin received his BFA from Washington University School of Fine Art and
MFA in sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art. He has had a solo exhibition
at ROME arts in Brooklyn. His work was also included in group exhibitions
in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tampa, FL; About Studios in Bangkok,
Thailand; and Art in General, Momenta and White Columns, all in New York.
Carlos Motta
Carlos received his BFA in photography from the School of Visual Arts and
MFA in photography from Bard College. He has had solo exhibitions at Kevin
Bruk Gallery in Miami, Alianza Francesa in Bogota, Colombia and La Corte
Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy. His work was also included in exhibitions
at Artists Space and PS122 Gallery, both in New York, SF Camerawork in
San Francisco as well as largely in Europe and South America including:
The Noorderlicht Photofestival in The Neatherlands and The XII Art Biennial
of Cerveira, Portugal and The Museum of Modern Art in Bogotá, Colombia.
Carlos is the editor of art webzine "artwurl"
and is teaching faculty at ICP in New York.
Jihyun Park
Jihyun received his both BFA and MFA from Hong-Ik University in Seoul, Korea
and another MFA from the School of Visual Arts. He also completed a residency
at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture. He has had solo exhibitions
at the Fish Tank Gallery and the Islip Art Museum, both in New York and
Duck Won Gallery in Seoul, Korea. His works were also included in exhibitions
at Rush Art Gallery in NY; Bates Museum in Skowhegan, ME; Mouri Gallery
in Tokyo and LMCC's "Looking In", storefront exhibition.
Charlotta Westergren
Charlotta received her BArch. from Columbia University and MFA from the School
of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Solo exhibitions include
the Knoxville Museum of Art in Tennessee, Mary Goldman Gallery in Los Angeles
and Dee/Glasoe in New York. She was also an artist-in-residence at Bemis
Center for Contemporary, Art Omi and PS1 Studio Program.
