Writers Ricky Sears Ricky Sears was born in Washington D.C. in 1979 and currently lives and works in New York City. He received his MFA in 2006 from School of Visual Arts and his BA, cum laude honors, in Studio Art from University of Maryland, College Park in 2003. Grants and awards include EAF:07 Emerging Artist Fellowship at Socrates Sculpture Park, MCAF Grant from LMCC, Puffin Grant, and a chashama Artist Stipend. Exhibitions include Throughout the Building, P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, Queens, NY, selected by Alanna Heiss and Klaus Biesenbach and The Lines are Drawn, Tarryn Teresa Gallery, Santa Monica, CA. New York City projects include Our Space, a collaboration with chashama and The New Museum of Contemporary Art's education program G:Class and Pier 17 Hands On Frottage: Recording History at South Street Seaport.
