New Views: DUMBO offers New York-based artists critical distance from the
changed landscape of lower Manhattan, allowing them to examine the citys
urban, social, psychological, civic and historical dimensions.
Located in the DUMBO section of Brooklyn, the studios views are framed
by the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.
LMCC, in a partnership with Two
Trees Management Co., hosted cityscape painters who were displaced from their
World Trade Center studios. A second group of artists working in various media
(painting, sculpture, audio, installation, photography, video and new media)
began a three-month residency in early July. The residency culminated with open
studios in October.
