Lower Manhattan Cultural Council works with General Growth Properties (GGP) to program GGP's newly created cultural space, @Seaport!, located in the the South Street Seaport. Formerly a retail store, the expansive, unique two-level space is particularly suited for site-specific installations, dance and theater performances, and exhibitions. Space at 210 Front Street is generously donated by General Growth Properties.

A site-specific artist residency and exhibition-in-progressOrganized by: @Seaport!: 210 Front Street at BeekmanMay 1 – June 1Open to the public Tuesday – Saturday, 12 – 6pm All events and exhibition hours are free and open to the public. HERE is a multimedia project incorporating film, performance, installation, drawing, painting, and sculpture. It is a collaboration between 12 international and New York-based artists, one architect, and three curators. In a former retail space in the South Street Seaport, the artists, architect, and curators will explore the communal organization of the space and the interactive possibilities of the creative process. Artist residency, exhibition, and architectural intervention will merge. The inspiration for HERE is the concept of energy as agent in the individual and collaborative artistic creativity. On this intangible level of communication, the theme of shadows emerges, suggesting the reappearance of memories, and imprints from the past. In this frame, the space becomes the protagonist, allowing the transformation of energies and shadows into artwork. HERE is the first chapter of HERENOWTHEN, a series of three exhibitions in Manhattan. Visit their website for more information.
