2011 Swing Space Resident, Building 110: LMCC’s Arts Center At Governors Island
Ingrid Burrington is an artist living in America. Since 2009, she has run the Center for Missed Connections (CMC), an organization devoted to the study of urban loneliness through mapping and analyzing data from the missed connections personals section of Craigslist.
During her residency this Fall, the CMC will for the first time apply its data and research to public services, offering personalized reports to missed connection seekers (or subjects) and walking tours of the loneliest places in NYC. Educational pamphlets, videos, and other media will be made available online on the CMC's forthcoming website.
