During his Swing Space residency at Governors Island, Acevedo will be working on The Alpha-Bits (working title). The Alpha Bits will consist of drawings and small-scale sculpture that focus on strategies and stylized graphic forms exploring the covert and overt nature of military language. Through encoded schemes, this project brings together a hybridity of typography reminiscent of early 1980’s era graffiti ciphers in two/three dimensions, and architectonic forms.
