Becca Albee

Workspace 2009-2010

Becca Albee, born in Portland, Maine, lives and works in New York. Her photo-based work, often resulting in or combining installation, sculpture, video, sound, and/or small printed editions, has appeared in exhibitions, screenings, and publications nationally and internationally, most recently at P·P·O·W, New York; Lump Gallery/Projects, Raleigh; and North Drive Press. She has attended residencies at Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Atlantic Center for the Arts, and the Artist in the Marketplace program at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. She is currently a visiting artist at New York University’s Steinhardt School. She received an MFA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BA from The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington. While in Olympia, she played music and was in bands with releases on Chainsaw Records and Kill Rock Stars.
