Chelsea Knight

Workspace 2010-2011

Chelsea Knight was born in Vermont and lives and works in New York. She received her B.A. from Oberlin College and her M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Knight recently completed residencies at the Whitney Independent Study Program and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, and was a 2007 Fulbright Fellow in Italy. Solo exhibitions include: Momenta Art, Brooklyn, Night Gallery, Los Angeles, Julius Caesar Gallery, Chicago, The University of Syracuse, NY, and upcoming at Abrons Art Center, New York and the St. Louis Art Museum. Knight has exhibited and screened her work in group shows including the Young Artists' Biennial, Bucharest, the 10th Annual Istanbul Biennial, Les Rencontres Internationales, Werkschauhalle Gallery, Leipzig, the Michelangelo Pistoletto Foundation, Biella, Italy, Vox Populi, Philadelphia, The Academy for Media Arts, Cologne, Harvard University, Art in General and the Kitchen, NY. She will be a Henry L. and Natalie E. Freund Fellow at the Sam Fox Graduate School of Art, Washington University in St. Louis in 2011-2012.
