Deana Lawson

Workspace 2009-2010

Deana Lawson is a photo-based artist born in Rochester, New York.  She received an MFA in Photography from RISD in 2004. Exhibition venues include KIT Museum, Dusseldorf; Cohan & Leslie Gallery, New York; Collette Blanchard Gallery, New York; Artists Space, New York; The Studio Museum in Harlem, New York; Print Center, Philadelphia; and Spelman College Museum, Atlanta. Lawson is the recipient of the 2008/09 Aaron Siskind Foundation Fellowship Grant and a 2006 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship. Her work has been published in NY Arts Magazine, Time Out New York, Contact Sheet #154, and PQ Journal for Contemporary Photography.
