Elia Alba

Workspace: Current Session

Elia Alba was born in New York City. She received a BA, Specials Honors Curriculum, from Hunter College in 1994 and completed the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program in 2001. Alba works in photography, sculpture, and video and has exhibited at El Museo del Barrio, New York; The RISD Museum, Providence; Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; Jersey City Museum, Jersey City; Science Museum, London; Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, Madrid; ITAU Cultural Institute, Sao Paolo; and the 10th Havana Biennial, Havana. Awards include New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship, Crafts in 2002, and Photography in 2008; Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant in 2002; and Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant in 2002 and 2008.
