Juanli Carrión

Juanli Carrión is a New York City based artist born in Yecla, Spain in 1982. He received a BA in Fine Arts from Universidad de Granada and Université Paris 8 and his MFA from Universidad Politécnica de Valencia. Solo exhibitions include Artium, Spain; White Box and Y Gallery, New York; and Ego Art Center, Mexico. Residencies include ISCP in New York, Nagoya University in Japan, IAGO in Mexico, and Kuona Trust Studios in Kenya, among others. He has been nominated for the 2011 ICP New York Infinity Awards, received grants including Iniciarte 2009 and 2010 by Instituto Andaluz de las Artes y las Letras and 2010 Grant for Visual Arts by the Cultural Department of the Government of Murcia, Spain. In 2011, he was awarded the prize Generación 2012 by Caja Madrid, Spain.
