Leah Beeferman
Workspace 2010-2011
Leah Beeferman was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts. She received a BA from Brown University in 2004 and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2010. Her research-driven drawings, animations, sound work and installations interpret information broadly. What constitutes data, anyway? Data (information) and the representation of data (narratives transforming information) can be interpreted emotionally, psychologically, expansively.
Her work has been exhibited widely, at venues including the Insiders Biennale in Bordeaux, France; the Options 2009 Biennial in Washington, DC; the Queens Museum of Art; the Museum of Contemporary Art in Cleveland, OH; and Space 1026 in Philadelphia, PA. She recently put on a multi-channel animation, sound and star-projector show at a local planetarium in Richmond, Virginia.
