Rashaad Newsome

Rashaad Newsome was born in New Orleans, LA where he received a BA in Art History from Tulane University. After moving to NY he studied Film and Digital Post Production at Film Video Arts.
Newsome has exhibited and performed nationally and internationally at venues including: The Kitchen New York, NY; The Project Gallery New York, NY; K.U.E.L., Berlin, Germany; Veletrzni Palace, Prague, Czech Republic as well as Fondation Cartier, Paris, France.
His recent awards include: 2009 BAC Community Arts Regrant Brooklyn, NY and 2009 Harvestworks Van Lier Grant, Harvestworks, New York, NY. Upcoming projects in 2009 include new commissions for Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and The Margulies Warehouse Miami, Florida.
