Rob Carter

Workspace: Current Session

Rob Carter uses photography, stop-motion animation, and time-lapse video to spotlight architecture and its shifting historical and cultural significance. A few years after completing his BFA at Oxford University, he relocated to New York to attend Hunter College’s MFA program. Since then, he has exhibited work in numerous locations worldwide including solo exhibitions in Madrid, Chicago and Rome. 2010 saw him exhibit his work at the ICA in Philadelphia, Bruce Silverstein Gallery in New York and the Shanghai World Expo; additionally he received a NYFA Fellowship and took part in residencies in Austria and Spain. In 2011 he showed work at Ebersmoore, Chicago, 1000 EVENTI, Milan, and Festival Narracje in Poland. His large-scale installation at Art In General opened in April 2012 and is his first solo show in New York.
