Creative Captial Foundation Awards Grants to Past LMCC Artists-in-Residence
Creative Capital, a national organization that supports individual artists, announced the recipients of its 2009 grants. Initial awards of $10,000 have been made to 41 projects in emerging fields, innovative literature and performing arts. These projects represent 61 artists across the country working individually and in collaboration. Each project becomes eligible for additional funds of as much as $50,000 over the course of the organization’s multi-year commitment.
LMCC is please to learn 5 past artists-in-residence were recipients of this year's award: Cesar Cornejo, Franziska Lamprecht and Hajoe Moderegger who collaborate as eteam, and Valerie Tevere and Angel Nevarez who collaborate as neuroTransmitter.
The eteam were visiting artists in the World Trade Center, Winter 2000-Spring 2001.
Valerie Tevere, of neuroTransmitter, was a Workspace artist-in-residence at the New Views DUMBO residency, July - October 2002.
Angel Nevarez, also of neuroTransmitter, was a Workspace artist-in-residence in the Woolworth Building, October 2003 - March 2004.
Cesar Cornejo was a Workspace artist-in-residence at 120 Broadway, September 2006 - May 2007.
