Public programming at the Council stokes the cultural life of the city with art, ideas, and imagination. We aim to stimulate conversation around key concepts and topics of the moment through the organization, production, and commissioning of a wide-ranging array of art installations, performances, and lectures that draw audiences to little known or overlooked locations citywide.
LMCC’s Creative Curricula grantee, the Apollo Theater, in partnership with the Harriet Tubman Learning Center creatively engages fourth and fifth graders through the Apollo Theater Oral History Project.
