Chelsea Opera, Inc., The Ballad of Baby Doe by Douglas Moore
To support two orchestra rehearsals culminating in four fully staged performances with 20-piece chamber orchestra of Douglas Moore’s American classic two-act opera, The Ballad of Baby Doe, in recognition of the opera’s NYC debut 50 years ago.
Chhandayan, Chhandayan Sangeet Series
To support 3 concerts of Indian Music at Actors’ Theatre Workshop
Church of the Good Shepherd, The, Concert Series on Roosevelt Island
To support twelve, 1.25-hour monthly recitals on Roosevelt Island, to support the community food pantry.
East River Music Project, East River Music Project: Summer 2008 Season
To support summer series of four free outdoor concerts to take place at the East River Amphitheater.
Evelyne Luest, Peace and War Concert (working title)
To support a concert about war and peace performed by the Contrasts Quartet at the MOSA Concert Series.
Jason Tagg, Ukelele Cabaret
To support promotion of monthly Ukele Cabaret series, featuring 60 New York-based ukele artists and hosted by Sonic Uke.
Jessica Powell, New Amsterdam Boys Choir Artist Residency
To support a two-week residency with an East Harlem boys choir, including two-hour workshops and a collaborative, free public performance.
Lisa Spraragen, New Works for Guitar
To support a live concert of Latin Guitar featuring new works by NY composers Silas Antonio Santo and Josue Perez.
Manhattan Choral Ensemble, New Music for New York
To support the commissioning of a composer who will create one 7-10 minute a cappella choral work to be performed among Rachmaninoff’s All Night Vigil (popularly known as the Vespers).
New York City Master Chorale, Concert of French Composers
To support two performances of Music of French Composers, featuring the Faure Requiem.
Theodore M. Rosenthal, Jazz Composition
To support a new 5 movement, 25 minute piece for jazz ensemble by composer/pianist Ted Rosenthal to be performed as part of the Dance at Dicapo program
Welltone New Music, Cutting Edge Concerts
To support a series of 3 concerts presenting music by living composers who discuss their work prior to each performance.
World Foundation for Music and Healing, WTC Responder Day Concert
To support musical performances and an interactive concert for children and parents for Responder Day, a city-wide outreach event for World Trade Center Responders/Recovery Workers and the general public in the Spring of 2008.
Bobby Previte, April in New York
To support a week-long concert series of improvised duets in a raw, untraditional performance space.
Daniel Lippel, Concert and Outreach Program of Newly Written Contemporary Compositions for Guitar
To help with costs associated with presenting a concert of new compositions for guitar as well as a presentation on new guitar music to local high school students, all commissioned by and written for guitarist Daniel Lippel.

To support a concert of composer Meredith Monk’s music performed by seven young professionals who are burgeoning in their careers and passionate about continuing Monk’s legacy.

To support a concert entitled Thoughts about Peace in a Time of War, commemorating the fifth anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.
Gina Crusco, Livietta and Tracollo: Reinventing a Pergolesi Masterwork
To support presentation guest artists, alongside our resident artists and a community chorus, in a new English translation of Pergolesi’s Livietta e Tracollo, culminating in a four-performance run in Manhattan Valley in June, 2008.
Ishmael Wallace, Voices of the Neighborhood III
To support three free concerts celebrating the creative voices of neighbors in greater West Harlem, including a cantata based on interviews with neighbors, a work created collaboratively with neighbors for instruments made from recycled junk, and a music theater work created in collaboration with homeless senior citizens.
Kevin R. Gallagher, Cosmopositional Rock - A concert and workshop of New Music for Rock Quartet
To support 2 new compositions for rock quartet by composers Anna Clyne and Ken Ueno, culminating in a public concert and workshop for student composers at the Monkey (West).
