- Around the Block, Inc.
- Urban Dramatic Literature in Libraries and Other Centers: includes biweekly workgroups in which new dramatic pieces will be developed with the goal of publication and broadcast; a free 30-session basic Dramatic Literature course (acting, directing, writing); and 12 performances and public readings of new urban plays in January through August.
- Arts for All, Inc.
- Creative Works: a series of eight weekly creative self-expression workshops for young actors and writers from underserved communities, culminating in a full day of tech and public dress rehearsal of an original theater piece.
- Dangerous Ground Productions
- Oedipus After Colonus: the world premiere of a multimedia play by poet Robert Kelly, staring leftist writer Carey Harrison, with live music by Brenda Hutchinson. The work will be performed in a week-long run at HERE Arts Center.
- The Debate Society / Gilda’s Club New York City, Inc.
- Untitled Buddy Cop Play: the world premiere of The Debate Society’s newest full-length play, to be performed at The Ontological-Hysteric for a three-week run in May and June, 2010.
- Ex.Pgirl, Inc.
- Paris Syndrome: an original dance theater work created by the multi-cultural performance ensemble, Ex.Pgirl, as part of the HARP Artist in Residence program, that will premiere in a three week run at HERE Arts Center in June 2009
- Hudson Guild
- The Hudson Guild Theatre Company will present two productions: a humorous, accessible introduction to Wagner’s epic, The Ring as well as a one-act play, Hula Heart, featuring youth ages 5-15 in a story about growing up and cultural transitions.
- Juneteenth Legacy Theatre
- Ethel Waters: His Eye is On the Sparrow: a new theater project that will culminate in nine mainstage performances.
- LaMicro Theater Inc.
- An adaptation of a short story by a Latin American writer will culminate in nine public performances of a theatrical production.
- Manhattan Children’s Theatre
- The Velveteen Rabbit: an exciting new musical adaptation of the beloved children’s story, tying the heart-aching wonder of childhood nursery magic with the wistfulness of becoming an adult. Scheduled to run February-April 2010.
- Moose Hall Theatre Company
- Twelve free outdoor performances of “Tombstone - Saga of the West,” written by Ted Minos as part of the Inwood Shakespeare Festival’s 2010 season in Inwood Hill Park Peninsula
- The New Stage Theatre Company, Inc.
- The Melody of Things: an original play created and directed by Ildiko Nemeth, to be performed at the La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club from November 26-December 12, 2010.
- New York Neo-Futurists
- Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind: an ever-changing attempt to perform 30 original short plays in 60 minutes. Performed at the Kraine Theater in the East Village.
- NY Artists Unlimited, Inc.
- BLACK GOLD- The Passion of Aleijadino: a new work about Brazil’s great Baroque sculptor, to include 35 performances in Manhattan venues.
- Talking Drum Theatre Arts Program, Inc.
- Pulikana!: a youth theater that exposes local and global social injustices with the aim of promoting social awareness and inspirational change in the Harlem community and beyond. Performances use a blend of classical and experimental theatrical forms.
- Theatre Askew
- Horatio’s Rise: a company-created theater piece juxtaposing the life of Gilded Age author Horatio Alger with the mythologies of material success promulgated in his novels and his hidden sexuality. The premiere will have 16 performances in the fall of 2010 in the East Village.
- West Side Community Garden
- A series of ten, one-hour performances by a professional theater company of a child-friendly adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” suitable for both children and adults.
- Zeus’s Thigh, Ltd.
- Boomerang’s Repertory Season: three full-stage productions about the nature of truth and fidelity --a new play, a classic play, and a “neglected” play-- together in rotating repertory. Audiences can experience the plays individually or together, as part of a larger portrait of human experience.
