Development & Events Intern needed for the Downtown Dinner and other special projects

Position Overview

LMCC seeks an organized, energetic and hardworking Development & Events Intern to work with the Development Manager, Individual Giving & Special Events. This internship will offer valuable hands-on experience in an arts organization, which includes assisting with LMCC’s annual benefit (The Downtown Dinner), other special events, and the launch of a new membership program. The ideal candidate is highly organized and efficient, and has some experience with fundraising or events management.

We are seeking candidates available 2-3 days a week from Wednesdays – Fridays.

Primary Responsibilities

• Conduct research – including contact and biographical information – on event attendees, new and lapsed donors, and other individuals as assigned
• Create and update individual and event records in Raiser’s Edge, based on RSVPs, event attendance, giving, and additional research
• Use the Raiser’s Edge to run queries, reports, exports, and imports as assigned
• Help maintain development department administrative systems, including departmental database records and electronic and hard files
• Help track incoming event reservations
• Provide support leading up to and during special events, including helping with event set-up, check-in, and breakdown
• Help produce acknowledgment letters for individuals or corporations related to The Downtown Dinner, annual donation campaigns, and membership program
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Undergraduates or graduate students in the fields of Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Public Art and Design, Art History, Arts Administration, or similar
• Independent, hardworking, organized, and experienced with a background or strong interest in the arts, fundraising, and/or event production
• Strong office and administrative skills; computer experience including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Mac proficiency a plus
• Familiarity with databases and an interest in learning how to use Raiser’s Edge 7
• Available some nights and weekends for openings, special events, and performances
• Strong writing and communication skills
• Available 20 hours per week
