Fund Grantee Fluid Motion Theatre and Film: Pious Poetic Pie
In May 2009, Fluid Motion Theatre and Film, produced Pious Poetic Pie, a new spoken word play adapted from Medea by Latina slam poet, Ubelky Rodriguez. The play, performed at Hudson Guild Theatre, used the explosive language of slam poetry to adapt Euripides' timeless journey of love, loss and revenge. Fluid Motion also offered a variety of post-show events including a performance by spoken word/hip hop band The Might Third Rail and a post show discussion with Dr. Helene Foley, Classics scholar from Columbia University.
