Gina Crusco - Share the Stage Concert

At the Share the Stage Concert program audiences will hear arias with chorus as listed above; operatic solos; and choral selections. Singers include Gregory Armstrong, Tara Bobiak and Stephanie McGuire; Elizabeth Rodgers will be at the piano. Choral numbers include Shalom Habonim, How can I keep from singing? and Amazing Grace.

This is the second Share the Stage performance, the first taking place on April 1, 2012. Ms. Crusco said her idea for Share the Stage grew out of her experience putting on concerts at senior centers and nursing homes. Frequently, to her surprise and delight, seniors sang along with some of the opera arias. “This led me to believe that I could go beyond passive entertainment of seniors,” Ms. Crusco said, “to a new level of participation. I love to see the light in someone’s eyes when music awakens curiosity and delight.”

Share the Stage Concert will be held at the Weinberg Senior Center at the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood, 54 Nagle Avenue, on July 22, 2012 at 2 pm.
