People’s Theater Project, LMCC Grantee featured in the New York Times
People's Theater Project
A final performance of an interactive and bilingual play “Let me in!/Dejame Entrar!,” was completed on February 16 after a three-night run at YM&YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood to a diverse audience ranging from senior citizens, to the local blogger community and children. The play was part of a program called "Action Theatre/Teatro Acción," a collaboration by the People's Theatre Project, the Theatre of the Oppressed NYC, and 14 novice and professional actors from Upper Manhattan who worked together to create three bilingual plays "based on their own experiences of immigration and discrimination."
