William Cordova
Support for travel to Peru, Uruguay and 35 US states to document historic landmarks associated with radical community activist groups.

Simone Leigh
Support for travel to Durban, South Africa, to research contemporary material culture in Zululand.

Angel Nevarez and Valerie Tevere
Support for travel to Castelfidardo, Italy to attend the 34th annual Festival Internazionale Fisarmonica and tour the Borsini factory.
Marc Andre Robinson
Support for travel to South Africa to investigate the artist’s Afrikaner family history and create a project on land that was once a family farm.

Ginger Brooks Takahashi
Support for a research trip to Mongolia on the Trans-Siberian Railway, inspired by Ulrike Ottinger’s film Johanna d’Arc of Mongolia.

Art Matters is a foundation created to assist artists who make work intending to break ground aesthetically and socially. Support is provided to encourage exploration of issues and ideas; experimentation in visual arts, media, and performance; and presentation of new art.
