MCAF Grantee Gesche Wuerfel Selected for THE FENCE Photography Exhibition
Manhattan Community Arts Fund grantee Gesche Wuerfel is one of 37 photographers whose work was selected for photography exhibition THE FENCE, curated and produced by United Photo Industries, Photo District News and Brooklyn Bridge Park in celebration of the launch of Photoville.
United Photo Industries invited photographers of all levels to explore the theme of ‘community,’ and THE FENCE is their answer. Out of an astonishing number of submissions, the jury selected powerful works that speak to the importance and essence of ‘community.'
The summer-long outdoor photo exhibition opens this Friday and will be on display through August 2012, with an expected audience of more than one million visitors.
THE FENCE begins at Pier 1 of Brooklyn Bridge Park and continues along the walkway to the uplands of Pier 3.
