“The most magical vision, I’ve ever seen on a stage.”
- The Wall Street Journal

In Rays of Space, choreographer Kota Yamazaki explores the landscape of light, architecture and the body. He plays with an invisible architecture by composing fluid movements to resemble bodies floating in the space. French visual artist Cecile Pitoisharness the rays of light in the church and connects the dancers to the specific environment of the sanctuary. Masahiro Sugaya, a long-time collaborator of Yamazaki, composes an original electronic score based on the subtle vibrations traveling though invisible lines in space. The landscape is amorphous and fleeting, dispersing intensity and reinventing the relationships between the dancers.
Rays of Space is performed by Elena Demyanenko, Ildiko Toth, Kai Kleinbard, Mina Nishimura, and Ryoji Sasamoto with lighting design by Kathy Kaufmann.
