Watermill Center Accepting Proposals

The Watermill Center invites emerging artists to submit ambitious proposals for the creation of collaborative works that critically investigate, challenge, and extend the existing norms of performance practice. The Center is founded on the belief that performance and stagecraft should draw inspiration from all the arts and social sciences. We also welcome research proposals from established scholars. We are actively engaged in extending our network of collaborators and encourage proposals from artists throughout the world. Complete guidelines are available on our website.

The Center seamlessly combines performance and rehearsal sites with working and communal living spaces. Its flexible and multi-purpose interiors house informal performance halls, the Watermill Art Collection, a selection of Robert Wilson's own furniture designs, an extensive reference library, kitchen facilities and dormitory. The Center is situated on six-acres of wooded and landscaped grounds. Residencies can range from one to four weeks and are scheduled throughout the Fall (September-December) and Spring (February-June)

Information and application guidelines are available here.
