Workspace Resident Mike Estabrook at Openings Art Space
2007-2008 Workspace Resident Mike Estabrook will be featured in a two-person show with Vandana Jain at Openings Art Space at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle in New York. Gods and Monsters opens tomorrow, Wednesday August 27th, with a reception from 7-9 pm and will be on view until September 30th, 2008.
"Vandana Jain and Mike Estabrook will be featuring a variety of new drawings and paintings. Jain's work is born from the language of icons, heraldry and corporate logos, while Estabrook creates grotesque imagery that is often informed by the archetypes of today's political pantheon. Though they approach their subjects in very different ways, Jain and Estabrook are both working with the symbols that represent the beliefs of contemporary global society."
